Creation and day-to-day operations of business gulp in money, in some cases these will mean lots of money. Little or huge, the money piles up to bigger money over time and, sooner or later, the money available to spend runs out. You are unable to recover the money spent on the business, and we cannot even talk about profit yet.

Let me say we have waited too long, unable to make meaningful and stable revenue, month-after-month, since we started out about a year and a half ago. Our first flow of revenue came over a year after we started and it was not so meaningful. The worse part of the story, it was a one-timer. Apart from this, it was quite long before any other flow came. If revenue were water, we have waited long enough to be thirsty to death, especially for a solely-owned business running on proprietary funding.
Our long wait and growing thirst for revenue had a way of firing up my creative center. Useful moves came up my mind, I resolved that our company had to bootstrap and raise money with all of its resources in alternative ways, rather than rely on the main idea and model of its business till eternity. So apart from the advertising and selling revenue from the main idea and model of our business, we started a ghostwriting service.
The ghostwriting service got us our first stable flow of revenue, the revenue was not so meaningful but it was good that it was a regular one at least, even though it was just a few clients.
Our team has had a tough time growing with the condition of our revenue. Because we strictly ran a commission-based team pay, team members made no money when the business made nothing. Many times, team members will grumble and team prospects will lose interest. Even though we wished to pay team members enough for their efforts, the company had little money available to spend. To motivate team members and be fair enough as possible, we have had to compensate team members as little as possible from the money available to the business to spend. Some of our team members could not bear the wait and left. It is hard to blame any of those who left. But the truth is, you do not need a team that cannot go through difficult times with you.
Apart from the revenue plan in our main idea and model, the time to complete our initial development and the frequent changes in our operating design and process also setback our revenue flow somehow. It left us we a lot more downtime than we needed to have revenue flowing in early enough.
After going through all these challenges and finding solutions, we expect a growth in revenue. We have our ghostwriting service up and just today we got Google AdSense running on our blog.
Maybe next time I write about our revenue, I will be able to publish some figures. For now, they are just too embarrassing.
